To be crass, if anyone were to pass by Creative Jewellery Studio & saw this bunch of brownish "rocks" hanging on the wall, one might really think that it's just a bunch of pebble-shaped rocks strewn together as a wall decor left over from the 70s. But it does take a certain special pair of eyes to discern pebbles from gems & to rediscover or re imagine how it might look like as a necklace...
One such special person with that keen eye came along & out of nowhere requested to buy these fossilized bones to be made into a necklace. I was skeptical, insisting that this customer actually met up with me to take a closer look at them before making any hasty decisions... I know I'm not suppose to react like this but I didn't want to end up spending my time & effort into something that the customer might not want it in the end.
So at last we met and she knew exactly what it was as she explained she is into fossilized stones and metamorphic rocks like snowflake obsidian and zebra jasper. I was utterly embarrassed by my initial reaction. And so walah! This was the end result: strewn together with hematite beads with minimal wire sculpted decor in sterling silver.
I suppose the moral of this story is to tell myself not to be a skeptical bitch & approach people & things with a broader heart.
